Community Events & Venue Manager

Job Summary

Coordinate venue tours, manage the Welcome Center reception area, and oversee scheduling, setup, and vendor logistics for internal and external events across the campus. Lead two to three direct reports, establish service standards and SOPs, and ensure seamless execution from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up. Manage contract negotiations, pricing, invoicing, and budget tracking while collaborating with Facilities, Marketing, and leadership to drive facility utilization and earned revenue. Maintain organized records of contracts and compliance, continuously improve venue-management technologies, and support expansion and renovation projects. Work evenings and weekends as required to support the Council's mission and community partnerships.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in venue management, event operations, hospitality, project management, facilities coordination, partnerships, venue sales, conference services, or a related field
  • Experience in managing multi-use event spaces, including meeting rooms, conference centers, and auditoriums
  • Experience supervising direct reports
  • Strong organizational, project management, relationship-building, systems thinking, and process-improvement skills
  • Professional presence with clients, vendors, executives, and community partners
  • Excellent customer service, written communication, and verbal communication abilities
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across departments and with external partners and vendors
  • Ability to manage ad hoc projects and perform assigned duties effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Maintain flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience with booking platforms, e-signature tools, CRMs, accounting software, payment systems, or venue management platforms
