Job Summary
Conduct direct representation for clients in public benefits matters, including TANF, SNAP, Medical Assistance, Unemployment Compensation, and SSI/SSDI. Plan and coordinate community outreach events, legal clinics, and educational presentations to expand access to justice. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer attorneys and law students while developing strategies to identify unmet legal needs. Represent clients in administrative and court proceedings and prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and motions. Engage with external organizations to connect vulnerable populations to resources, with a focus on serving Spanish-speaking communities. Perform in-office work and remote duties on a hybrid basis.
Required Qualifications
- License to practice law in Pennsylvania or admitted in another jurisdiction and eligible for admission to Pennsylvania
- Must be willing to accept complex and challenging cases and develop creative strategies to assist clients
- Must be able to perform in-office work
- Must be able to work remotely as needed
Desired Qualifications
- At least two (2) years' experience as a lawyer preferred
- demonstrated proficiency in word processing, Outlook products, case management software, and online legal research tools
- Passionate commitment to public interest law and serving low-income individuals and vulnerable populations
- Strong written and oral advocacy and organizational skills
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
- Spanish language fluency
