Job Summary
Directly supervise nine Community Engagement Specialists and four Community Aides, overseeing daily efforts, analyzing performance, and conducting site visits to ensure standards are met. Provide guidance for staff integrating the Cradle-to-Career and Whole Family Approach while managing administrative duties such as timecard approvals and performance evaluations. Assist the Community Engagement Manager with implementing engagement strategies, facilitating partnership agreements, and leading partner meetings. Report to the Community Engagement Manager within Resident Services, serving approximately 20,000 residents in Montgomery County. This hybrid role allows remote work two days weekly after the six-month probation period.
Required Qualifications
- At least five (5) years of substantial and demonstrable experience in the field of Social Work, Social Services, Human Services, or a related field
- capacity to effectively lead and supervise a team
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology or a related field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural humility, and the ability to engage sensitively and constructively with department and agency leadership
- Exceptional oral communication skills including comfort with speaking publicly in a variety of settings and ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Effective written communication skills including experience with preparing reports, briefings, and other written content
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and exercise good judgment
- Knowledge of program development, implementation and evaluation
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to coach and guide staff
- Considerable knowledge of Social Work/Social Service practices and programs
- Knowledge of subsidized housing programs
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
