Job Summary
Provide individualized and group services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to support community integration. Develop enriching activities and curriculum to assist individuals in mastering daily living skills. Maintain positive relations with community members and collaborate with non-profit organizations to secure volunteer opportunities. Find and provide community resources through local businesses and governmental entities. Track daily progress for billing, maintain person-centered schedules, and complete annual assessments. Provide transportation using agency vehicles or third-party services to expand community presence. Deliver training to support independence and respond to individual questions within two business days. Ensure vehicle cleanliness and compliance with all health and safety mandates.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Two or more years of experience in serving individuals with IDD, preferred
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License
- Must possess auto insurance
- Must possess car registration
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification preferred
