Community Engagement Specialist

Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and execute community engagement activities targeting the senior population ages 65 and older to improve health outreach outcomes. Identify and develop partnerships with third-party resources, vendors, and researchers while organizing workshops, events, and tabling at community gatherings. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify barriers to program effectiveness and facilitate meetings with organizations and the public. Collect and analyze qualitative data to assess community needs, then present findings through narratives, graphs, and visual reports. Represent the organization at networking opportunities and establish new community partnerships from the ground up to expand organizational reach.
Required Qualifications
- B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public Administration, Marketing and Communications, Public Health, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Community Development, Master Planning, Comprehensive Plans, Public Policy, or a field related
- 2 or more years of project management experience
- 1 or more years of community or stakeholder engagement experience
- Must possess or be able to obtain upon appointment a valid driver's license in the State of Indiana and have a good driving record
- Demonstrated ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to meet internal and client deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work with people at all levels including stakeholders, management, and the public
- Results, people, and quality of service oriented
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Proven ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently
- Solid track record of setting and meeting goals
- Proven efficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and internet
- Must have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles
- Ability to continuously stand or walk
- Ability to lift up to 10-25 pounds, occasionally
- Must be able to travel to meet with client resources and assist with events
Desired Qualifications
- Major in Public Administration, Marketing and Communications, Public Health, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Community Development, Master Planning, Comprehensive Plans, Public Policy, or a field related (preferred)
- PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications
