Job Summary
Lead the Community Engagement team by providing overall leadership, managing day-to-day operations, and directly supervising four full-time staff members. Develop and implement a comprehensive community engagement strategy aligned with the Cradle-to-Career Model, overseeing key programs such as Youth Enrichment Services, Adult Education & Workforce Development, and the Fatherhood Initiative. Cultivate partnerships with non-profit, for-profit, and government organizations while managing affiliated operating budgets and reporting key performance metrics. Represent HOC at meetings and partner engagements, ensuring programs meet grant standards and supporting emergency response efforts as needed. This hybrid role offers two days of remote work after the six-month probation period.
Required Qualifications
- At least ten (10) years of substantial and demonstrable experience in the field of Social Work, Social Services, Human Services, or a related field
- At least three (5) years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology or a related field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong program development, project management, and organizational leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural humility, and the ability to engage sensitively and constructively with department and agency leadership
- Exceptional oral communication skills including comfort with speaking publicly in a variety of settings and ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Effective written communication skills including experience with preparing reports, briefings, and other written content
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and exercise good judgment
- Knowledge of program development, implementation and evaluation
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to coach and guide staff
- Considerable knowledge of Social Work/Social Service practices and programs
- Knowledge of subsidized housing programs
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Must pass criminal background checks
- Must pass employment reference checks
- Must submit to driving record review where applicable
- Must agree to work remotely two days a week once the 6-month probation period is successfully completed
- Must be an internal applicant (current HOC employee)
