Job Summary
Conduct community outreach by cold calling organizations and faith-based groups, responding to donor inquiries, and managing outreach efforts to track progress and quantify results. Coordinate donation drives, maintain inventory counts of received goods, and support staff with the disbursement of items to clients. Draft newsletter articles, generate social media content, and create invitations for special events while assisting with printed materials. Record hours and submit monthly timesheets via the IRC's online Volunteer Dashboard. This unpaid internship supports both the Richmond and Charlottesville offices, with a primary focus on the Richmond community.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or recent graduate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
- Experience with data entry and managing databases
- Experience working within a nonprofit office environment
- Interested in learning about the Greater Richmond community
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with basic video editing and graphic design software (Canva)
- Comfortable taking leadership role as appropriate
- While a personal vehicle is not required, it would be helpful on occasion
