Job Summary
Part-time Community Engagement Generalist in Grand Rapids, MI (hybrid role combining field engagement and office work) supporting overall community engagement efforts. Responsibilities include attending community events, completing tasks across program, communications, finance, and HR areas, data management, trauma and resilience training support, event prep/cleanup, direct support for the community engagement team, assisting with parent-facing initiatives (e.g., parent cafes, Family Advisory Board), running reports, supervising program interns, quality-checking processes (including grant reports), and scheduling/notes. Requires minimum Bachelor’s degree in related fields and at least one year of relevant experience; strong written/verbal communication, Microsoft Office and database skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and cultural competence. The role involves some travel/physical tasks (e.g., lifting ~25 lbs) and may require use of a personal vehicle; COVID-19 vaccine compliance is required; hybrid arrangement includes in-person activities in the community and office time, with potential nights/weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, business, human services, non-profit administration, child development, social work, or related fields
- Minimum of one-year experience in related job/field
- Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and databases
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Adaptability, initiative, and ability to work independently or in a team
- Culturally competent and able to work with diverse populations
- Experience or familiarity with early childhood services and/or community partnerships (preferred)
- Grant writing and/or reporting experience (preferred)
