Job Summary
Facilitate community relationships and foster social skills for individuals with developmental disabilities across Coastal Virginia by using the community as a learning environment to build natural supports. Assist clients in acquiring, retaining, or improving independence and personal choice while engaging in day and weekend shifts. Requires flexible hours including weekends and holidays, with a starting wage of $14.50–$15.50 per hour and eligibility for wage increases post-training. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license, pass background checks, and maintain First Aid/CPR/AED and Medicaid Waiver certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Proof of highest level of education
- Able to pass criminal/registry background checks and tuberculosis screening
- Ability to maintain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, Medicaid Waiver Certification, and Direct Support Professional Core Competencies
- Valid driver's license
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
