Job Summary

Lead stakeholder and community engagement for the Second Avenue Subway project in NYC; plan and execute outreach activities, develop and distribute clear communications materials for diverse audiences, and coordinate public meetings and outreach efforts across project phases. Engage residents, elected officials, advocacy groups, and businesses to ensure timely updates and build relationships; gather and report stakeholder feedback to inform project planning. Collaborate with agency partners to obtain construction progress updates and ensure communications are clear, accurate, and accessible (including for non-English-speaking populations). Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for outreach events. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, or public affairs; proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with diverse populations and, ideally, Spanish fluency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, Public Policy, Communications, or related field
  • At least 2 years’ experience in stakeholder engagement, community outreach, or public affairs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with New York City communities and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
