Job Summary
Plan, develop, and deliver classroom, lab, and clinical instruction for Certified Nurse Aide candidates in compliance with Michigan state regulations. Prepare lesson plans, competency checklists, and instructional materials while supervising students during hands-on skills demonstrations and clinical rotations. Conduct ongoing evaluations through written exams and skills assessments, providing timely feedback and mentoring students on academic and clinical performance. Maintain accurate records of attendance and competencies while ensuring all training content aligns with current CNA certification standards and regulatory updates.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Bachelor's degree
- active, unrestricted license as a professional Registered Nurse from the State of Michigan
- two (2) years of clinical nursing experience
- at least one (1) year of long-term care nursing experience in Michigan
- Completion of an accredited Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training program, adult learning course, or documented experience supervising nursing assistants
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification
- Michigan Train-the-Trainer certification
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours)
- Capability to bend, lift, push, pull, and assist with patient-mobility simulations
- Sufficient manual dexterity to demonstrate clinical procedures and operate training equipment
- Occasional lifting or assistance of individuals or training mannequins up to 50 pounds, following proper body-mechanics techniques
- Active participation in hands-on skills demonstrations and clinical supervision
- Ability to travel to all campus locations
