Community Disaster Risk Reduction Manager

Job Summary
Oversee the Community Adaptation program by managing workforce development, budgeting, and mission objectives while conducting needs assessments to identify vulnerable populations in health, food security, and housing. Integrate partnerships into planning, readiness, response, and recovery activities by building relationships with local organizations and stakeholders, then lead implementation of Community Adaptation initiatives and convene support networks. Support grant management through oversight of requirements and data reporting, while developing internal and external communications strategies to meet program objectives. Collaborate with regional teams to determine workforce opportunities and support communities during disaster relief responses. Work three days in the Austin Metro office with field and remote duties, requiring a valid driver's license and occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work or Public Health
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Experience in outcomes-based social services/community organizing environment
- Equivalent combination of education and related experience
- 3 years of supervisory or management experience
- Current, valid driver's license
- Good driving record
- Ability to work in the office 3 days a week
- Ability to work in the field/remote other days
- Ability to travel
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time
- Ability to work in a small cubicle

- Experience in community mobilization and disaster recovery
- Experience building and supporting a volunteer workforce
- Demonstrated familiarity with climate adaptation/resilience strategies
- Demonstrated familiarity with community organizing
- Experience in grant administration
- Experience in disaster risk reduction
- Experience in building volunteer teams
- Familiarity with federal, state and local employment laws
- Familiarity with government disaster assistance programs
- Spanish speaking
- Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
- Strong ties to the community and stakeholders
- Experience in an outcomes-based social services/community organizing environment
