Job Summary

Provide mental health, social, and personal care support to individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, and complex behavioral needs in their homes and communities. Assist with activities of daily living, household maintenance, and transportation to medical appointments and community activities. Utilize Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques, American Sign Language, and communication software to support individuals with autism, schizophrenia, OCD, and non-verbal communication needs. Manage situations involving physical and verbal aggression while monitoring health, safety, and well-being. Requires a valid driver's license, reliable driving ability, and willingness to participate in swimming activities. Works part of a 20-person team offering person-centered support and inclusion.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving ability
  • Ability and willingness to participate in swimming activities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Commitment to person-centered support and inclusion

Desired Qualifications

  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification
  • Mental Health First Aid Certification
  • Suicide Intervention/Suicide First Aid Training
  • Experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Experience supporting individuals with schizophrenia
  • Experience working with seniors and older adults
  • Experience supporting individuals with Down Syndrome
  • Experience working with non-verbal individuals
  • Knowledge of ASL and alternative communication methods
