Job Summary
Community Development Officer responsible for leading strategies to support the bank’s CRA goals in designated market areas, focusing on low/moderate income borrowers. Builds strategic partnerships with community development and economic development organizations to create CRA opportunities, identify and support affordable housing, community revitalization, small business development, job creation for LMI individuals, and financial literacy initiatives. Develops referral sources (realtors, homebuyer counseling agencies, builders, branch bankers) and coordinates volunteerism and charitable giving. Manages budgets, reporting, and compliance with laws and regulations, and travels to designated markets (evenings/weekends as needed) to advance outreach and partnership activities. Requires strong communication skills, ability to develop internal/external relationships, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to coordinate multiple activities to achieve bank objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years’ experience in banking and/or non-profit work
- Experience networking with and generating loan volume from non-profit institutions
- Travel required with occasional, overnight travel; valid Texas, Louisiana or Alabama Driver’s License is required
