Job Summary
Community Connections Coordinator coordinates Welcome Center and Fresh Food Market operations, builds shift coverage plans for staff and volunteers, leads during market hours when the Senior Manager is unavailable, supports resource navigation (e.g., referrals, ID vouchers, birth certificate vouchers), and uses Salesforce for check-ins, reporting, and documentation. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered service, with strong collaboration across teams and external partners to reduce barriers and support a welcoming community experience. Key duties include frontline operations support, volunteer onboarding/training, data and process improvement, cross-team collaboration, and contributing to equity-centered practices within a nonprofit food-access organization.
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to coordinate tasks, support teams, or guide volunteers in community-facing environments
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and solutions-oriented in high-stress situations
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and ongoing learning around issues of race, class, language access, and systemic barriers
- Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous personal and professional growth within an IDEA framework (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access)
- Bilingual Spanish/English or bicultural experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database systems; Salesforce experience preferred
- Experience with customer service, community engagement, social services, nonprofit operations, or related fields preferred
- Requires movement throughout the facility and standing for extended periods
- Role is primarily on-site with active responsibilities in a fast-paced, community-centered environment
