Job Summary
Greet community members and guests to welcome and engage them, while answering phone and email inquiries. Actively manage customer transactions, support facility operations by partnering with local leadership to ensure spaces remain clean, and maintain inventory of supplies. Anticipate individual needs to provide an exceptional customer experience, ensure front desk operations run smoothly, and conduct hub tours to sell memberships. Work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays as needed. This role supports the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago's mission to create a safe, welcoming environment that encourages growth and support across health, education, and violence prevention programs.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Earned high school diploma or GED
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed
- Top-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness and ability to complete all mandatory YMCA training and certifications, along with ongoing or additional training as assigned by the supervisor, within established timeframe
- Child Abuse Prevention - Supports the YMCA's commitment to child abuse prevention by: Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
