Job Summary
Community-Based Counselor provides family-centered mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and care coordination for youth and families in homes, schools, and community settings as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include counseling and case management for enrolled youth, connecting clients to natural supports and community resources, crisis intervention as needed, participation in treatment reviews and IEP meetings, documenting notes and service tracking, arranging transportation for school/therapy/court, on-call emergency coverage, and applying crisis de-escalation techniques. The role may involve emergency management and, per training, physical management as part of crisis response. Schedule is full-time with hybrid in-person and remote work; requires driving and access to a vehicle, and uses a credentialing process (TB, fingerprinting) as part of state/federal requirements. Salary is paid hourly with a range of $26.22–$28.72 per hour, starting compensation and annual increases noted, with benefits including health coverage and retirement options.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree OR Associate degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable experience OR High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable experience
- Own vehicle, valid driver's license, clean driving record
- At least 21 years of age
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
