Community Based Pre-School SPED Teacher_Collins

Provide direct and indirect services/instruction to students with disabilities in home-based or community/facility-based settings and collaborate with the general education teacher. Facilitate the evaluation and IEP process under the direction of the director of special education and special education supervisor. Essential duties include screening and evaluation of students, preparing eligibility and progress reports, serving on the Eligibility/IEP team, drafting goals and objectives with parents and teachers, supervising paraprofessionals, maintaining records and lesson plans, developing curriculum and instructional materials, making referrals and coordinating with outside service providers, delivering instruction per IEP, participating in professional development, and engaging in preschool/Pre-K conferences and RTI/SST activities. Requires knowledge of learning theory, differentiated instruction, developmental reading, child development, behavior management, and assessment; familiarity with elementary reading and math instruction if applying to elementary positions. Work environment involves typical preschool/early education duties and safeguarding students and equipment.
