Job Summary
Community Based Counselor duties include delivering Intensive-In-Home, Mental Health Skill Building, Community Stabilization, Mobile Crisis Response, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services. Conducts individual and/or family sessions with psychoeducation, behavioral support, and therapeutic interventions; uses de-escalation techniques; assists with coping skills and safety planning; provides services designed to improve family dynamics and reduce out-of-home placement; engages in PSR services to build independent living and social/communication skills; completes timely documentation; coordinates care with other staff and community providers; maintains client safety; requires QMHP or QMHP-T registration and a Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, human services, special education or counseling (Masters preferred); salary $19.00-$24.00 base hourly with full-time benefits and a $1,000 retention bonus for eligible full-time staff; location Lynchburg, VA; flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- QMHP or QMHP-T registration
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in psychology, social work, human services, special education or counseling
- Masters degree preferred but not required
- Minimum 1 year experience with individuals with a mental health diagnosis
- Clean driving record
- Basic computer and documentation skills
