Job Summary
Conduct state licensing surveys of long-term care facilities in Oregon, including on-site inspections of kitchens, resident care environments, and staff interactions. Review facility survey history, complaint reports, and medical records to evaluate conditions against state guidelines and determine potential non-compliance. Interview residents, families, and facility staff to validate findings, then write detailed reports using specified computer software. Travel regularly to counties across the state for inspections, often overnight, while lifting up to 20 pounds daily. Perform mandatory reporting of abuse and neglect for children, older adults, and individuals with disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Three years of experience in areas related to long-term care or nursing home administration
- A bachelor's degree of Health Science, Gerontology, Healthcare Administration, Long Term Care Administration
- A license as a Registered Nurse
- A license as a Long-Term Care Facility Administrator with a Bachelor's in health services
- A valid driver's license
- An acceptable driving record
- Experience related to nursing in a long-term care setting or administration of a nursing care facility or assisted living
- Knowledge of Oregon State laws, rules, and regulations related to the provision of long-term direct-care programs and facilities
- Skill in exercising independent judgment and decision-making in the application of laws, rules, policies, or procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully both independently and cohesively with a team
- Demonstrates emotional intelligence, conflict resolution skills, and unwavered professionalism—even in high-pressure or adversarial situations
- Experience using a variety of Microsoft Office Programs, email, data entry, video conferencing, and instant messaging
- Skilled in technical writing using the Principles of Documentation, with experience creating clear, accurate, and objective reports for medical, clinical, or long-term care investigations
- A cover letter
- Detailed work and education history that includes the month/year start date and month/year end date for each role/job
- Authorization to work in the United States (confirmed via I-9 form and E-Verify)
- No adverse criminal history or background check
