Community Association Manager

Job Summary

Guide the board of directors on policy issues, interpret statutes, and implement their decisions while preparing monthly management reports and meeting agendas. Manage day-to-day communications, handle disputes, and maintain property records. Oversee on-site employees and contractors, negotiate maintenance contracts, and arrange repairs to preserve common property. Monitor expenditures, approve invoices, and prepare financial budgets and projections. Perform regular property visits and respond to emergencies. This salaried role requires more than 40 hours per week, including frequent evening board meetings, and demands flexibility to work at the Gassen office or remotely. A valid driver's license and personal automobile are required.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer appropriate solutions
  • Knowledge of property management principles, procedures, and standards, as applied to residential facilities
  • Knowledge of community association law
  • Project planning skills
  • Knowledge of the contracting process
  • Ability to organize resources and establish priorities
  • Ability to develop and maintain personal recordkeeping systems and procedures
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data for association boards of directors
  • Ability to coordinate and/or supervise independent contractors
  • Ability to read and write English fluently
  • Ability to accurately perform intermediate mathematical functions
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office software functions
  • Ability to utilize property management software
  • Valid driver's license
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Furnish their own automobile
  • Ability to pass the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) exam within two years of employment
  • More than 40 hours per week
  • Frequent attendance at evening board meetings
  • Flexibility to come to the office for meetings as needed
  • Work performed at the Gassen office at times

Desired Qualifications

  • A college degree
  • Previous experience in property management
