Job Summary
Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and safety planning to domestic violence victims and their families, including follow-up on referrals from police reports and community events. Act as a liaison between 360 Communities advocacy services and community partners, coordinating support during court hearings and responding to hospital calls for forensic exam assistance. Develop relationships with local resources to connect individuals with housing, legal, and financial services while maintaining accurate data for service delivery. Represent the organization at community presentations and participate in staff meetings to drive best practices. This onsite role covers Apple Valley and Rosemount, Monday through Friday at 40 hours per week. Completion of 40-hour sexual assault training is required within the first months of employment.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of 40-hour sexual assault training required within first months of position
- Must have reliable transportation to provide mobile advocacy across service area
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and use of database systems
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience working with victims of domestic and/or sexual violence, including knowledge of legal advocacy available for victims and families
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but experience in lieu of degree will be considered
- Bilingual is a plus
- Completion of 40-hour sexual assault training prior to employment is preferred, but will help obtain if needed within first 6 months of employment
- Experience being self-directed, motivated and ability to demonstrate non-judgmental professional decision-making skills
- Experience with socially, economically and culturally diverse populations
