Job Summary
Senior Communications VP leading media relations and internal communications for the DACH region within Corporate & Investment Bank. Responsible for proactive media outreach, building relationships with financial journalists, coordinating commentary from bank spokespeople, orchestrating media interviews, sourcing interview opportunities, shaping messaging with business-management teams, enhancing internal communications, advising executives on speaking opportunities, and collaborating with EMEA Social Media to deliver localized thought leadership and measurement reports. Requires significant banking/financial services communications experience, strong editorial and crisis-management skills, and fluency in English and German.
Required Qualifications
- Significant agency or in-house communications experience with a strong track record leading media relations in banking, financial and/or professional services
- Advanced understanding of media monitoring tools for reporting purposes; experience compiling cuttings and media analysis reports
- Strong editorial judgment and issues/crisis management capability; confident making time-critical calls and guiding spokespeople
- Sharp news instinct in financial services and beyond; proactive in identifying narratives and moments for thought leadership
- Attention to detail, journalism standards, and fairness; curiosity across markets, infrastructure, payments, and technology
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; executive presence and ability to counsel, influence, and engage senior leaders
- Fluent in English and German
