Communications Tech 2

Communications Tech 2 position focusing on installing, disconnecting, upgrading, and repairing residential and commercial fiber services, including fiber drops, interior fiber wiring, ONTs, and end-to-end fiber installations. Responsibilities include fiber splicing (aerial and underground), maintaining broadband/fiber systems through testing and repairs, educating customers on services, assisting with new construction projects, and performing related duties. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license with a clean record, 1–2 years of CATV/fiber installation or related technical experience, ability to install and troubleshoot fiber systems, splice fiber, operate hand/power tools and test equipment, and comply with OSHA/FCC/NEC and local regulations. Candidate must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, work in tight spaces, and be comfortable with on-call rotations and matrixed schedules. Proficiency in Word and Excel is expected, along with strong problem-solving and independent task planning abilities.
