Job Summary
Manage Indy Reads' brand across social media, newsletters, and the website by crafting mission-driven content that centers student and volunteer stories. Collaborate with departments to define monthly priorities, produce creative assets including graphics and video, and maintain subscriber lists on Constant Contact. Attend community events to curate recaps and coordinate with staff on upcoming programming. Track digital performance analytics to grow audience engagement and optimize Google Ads for the bookstore. Work primarily on-site in Fountain Square with weekday availability, supporting the organization's goal of 100% literacy for all.
Required Qualifications
- Basic photography, graphic design, and/or videography experience
- Proficiency with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, Asana, Slack, and other tools
- Strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team within a culturally diverse environment with people from all backgrounds and with varying degrees of experience and skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Curious, open, and dedicated to participating in Indy Reads' journey to advance DEIA
- Commitment to the mission of Indy Reads
- Demonstrated time management and efficiency skills; proven dependability
- Self-motivated and eager to learn and develop skills; entrepreneurial self-starter who enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
- Honesty and integrity; manages confidential information with discretion and confidentiality
- A sense of humor
- Weekday (M-F 9am-5pm) availability
- Some evening and weekend availability
- Work will occur primarily on-site at Indy Reads' location
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use his/her hands to feel objects, tools or controls
- The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with Canva, Adobe InDesign, Eventbrite, and basic CMS
- Basic social media management experience, including analytics reporting
- Proficiency in a language other than English
