Job Summary

The Communications Specialist for the Cornell AI Initiative will execute integrated communications strategies to elevate the initiative’s visibility, engagement, and impact across digital platforms, internal channels, and external audiences. Responsibilities include developing compelling content, managing digital ecosystems (ai.cornell.edu), updating expert profiles and program pages, coordinating promotion of events and research outputs, leading amplification across initiative-owned platforms, planning Thought Summits and sponsored events (speaker coordination, AV, materials), and tracking performance metrics to translate data into actionable insights for audience targeting and content strategy. Requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 2-4 years of full-time work experience in strategic communications, preferably in higher education, research, or technology; proficiency with Drupal and WordPress; strong interpersonal and project-management skills; knowledge of AP style writing; ability to collaborate with diverse constituencies; and a commitment to inclusive, high-quality storytelling across digital channels.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2-4 years of full-time work experience in strategic communications, preferably in higher education, research, or technology.
