Job Summary
Communications & PR Coordinator based in Sydney office, reporting to the Senior Communications Manager. Responsibilities include coordinating media requests, interviews and press conferences; developing and distributing communications content (media releases, talking points, briefing notes, press assets); planning and delivering media events and announcements; maintaining media lists and trackers; collaborating with stakeholders and partners to tell the tournament story across channels; managing media materials and calendars, ensuring aligned messaging and smooth operations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Requires 2–4 years in communications/PR/media/events, strong writing and organisation, stakeholder relationship skills, experience with media/digital channels, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and communications tools. Hybrid work arrangement with Mondays and Fridays remote and Tue–Thu in-office, Sydney location for Rugby World Cup Australia’s RWCA program.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years’ experience in communications, PR, media, journalism or events
- Strong writing and communication skills with great attention to detail
- Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Confidence building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Good understanding of media, digital and social channels
- A hands-on, team-first mindset with strong coordination skills
- The ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt when things change
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office and communications tools
- Experience supporting events or campaigns in fast-paced environments - preferred
