Job Summary
Public Safety Communications Officer (part-time) on Bucknell University's campus. You will handle emergency and routine calls (phone/radio), dispatch Public Safety Officers, monitor NCIC/JNET, and oversee campus security systems (cameras, alarms). Responsibilities include maintaining operation logs, ensuring compliance with emergency communication regulations, monitoring surveillance and alarms, and assisting residential services with student access and parking issues. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED (preferred vocational training), up to one year or more in law enforcement/security/dispatch, APCO Telecommunications Certification, APCO EMD Certification, CPR/First-Aid. This role is on-campus, non-benefits eligible, with a salary of $17.50/hour (annualized to $36,400), and requires authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship. All Public Safety employees are Campus Security Authorities per the Clery Act, and the position emphasizes safety, rapid response, and accurate data maintenance.
