Job Summary

Communications Officer responsible for supporting Amref Health Africa Kenya through the Imarisha-jamii project by developing and disseminating information about initiatives. Key duties include drafting/editing/producing internal and external materials, coordinating stories for newsletters/reports, collaborating with designers and videographers on assets, facilitating media activities (press conferences, interviews, media visits), maintaining media contacts, tracking coverage, managing digital/media presence (social media, analytics), planning and executing events, maintaining an organized digital library, budgeting for communications activities, monitoring health trends and stakeholder analysis, and cross-department collaboration to tailor messaging. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years in communications, with strong planning, writing, diplomacy, and organizational skills. Eligible applicants include residents of Turkana County; rolling review with deadline 25 June 2026. Hybrid remote option available from Lodwar, Turkana County, Kenya.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Development Communication, or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience in a communications role
