Communications Lead, Platform

Job Summary
Own external communications for the Claude Platform end to end, including capability releases, product updates, and developer-facing news. Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, newsletter writers, and creators covering AI platforms and enterprise software. Prepare Platform leaders to be effective spokespeople for press, podcasts, and panels. Partner with Product and Engineering to align external narratives with how these products are sold and supported, and surface customer feedback to teams. Work across press, social, owned, and community channels, determining the right moments to coordinate multiple channels. These responsibilities require understanding developer culture and enterprise buying, plus the ability to identify which product moments deserve the spotlight and how to land them.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- Minimum years of experience correlating with internal job level requirements as applicable (senior)
- Experience in communications, PR, or product marketing
- Experience with platform, API, or enterprise products
- Ability to engage with developers and enterprise buyers
- Existing relationships with reporters and analysts in relevant domains
- Visa sponsorship considered for offers
Desired Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in communications, PR, or product marketing
- Communications experience at a developer platform, API-first, or enterprise software company
- Existing relationships with reporters and analysts covering AI platforms, enterprise tech, or the developer ecosystem
- Experience managing communications for AI or ML products
- Very online: follows Hacker News and developer social chatter
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
