Job Summary
Develop and execute communications strategy across media, public relations, and external channels. Draft press releases, public statements, talking points, and executive communications while managing relationships with journalists, media outlets, podcast hosts, and stakeholders. Coordinate media outreach for investigations, reports, events, and announcements; work closely with James O'Keefe and senior leadership to ensure consistent messaging. Monitor media coverage and public sentiment to identify opportunities and risks, assist with crisis communications and rapid-response messaging, and support speaking engagements and interviews. Maintain communication calendars and coordinate messaging across departments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, media relations, journalism, political communications, or a related field
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
- Experience drafting communications for executives, public figures, or organizations
- Strong understanding of media relations and news cycles
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively under tight deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in journalism, media, advocacy, public affairs, political communications, or nonprofit communications
- Existing relationships with journalists, producers, media outlets, and industry contacts
- Experience supporting executive communications and public-facing leadership
- Passion for investigative journalism and independent media
