Job Summary

Maintain the district website news feed with timely, relevant content by collaborating directly with administration and department directors. Manage and curate engaging posts for official social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, ensuring a daily consistent posting schedule and highlighting deadline-driven events. Draft and distribute electronic newsletters and press releases to showcase district successes and upcoming updates while strictly verifying student privacy compliance for any featured individuals. Assist in promoting special events and programs that recognize achievements of staff, students, and community members. This role supports the Knoxville Community School District's public relations activities under the Superintendent's supervision.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in communications, marketing, public relations, website management, or a related field
  • Proven experience with professional communications, marketing, social media messaging, or related work
  • Demonstrated competency in public relations and communications
  • Highly proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines independently
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
