Job Summary
Operate and test protection and control equipment including IEDs, electromechanical and solid-state relaying, PLCs, SCADA systems, and telecommunication gear (fiber optics, two-way radio, and microwave). Install, test, and repair protective relays, SCADA, and telecom equipment; perform maintenance on electronic circuits; work from ladders or in confined spaces; travel across the Eversource territory with potential overtime and emergency restoration assignments. Strong math, PC skills, ability to read electrical/electronic drawings, and capability to follow instructions are required. This is a one-step progression position in a union-represented environment; to apply you must meet the associate degree requirement and pass the EEI Technician Aptitude Test. EEO/AA employer.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate’s degree in electrical technology, electrical power system technology, electrical control systems, telecommunication technology, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, or electronics.
- Successful completion of the EEI Technician’s Aptitude Test is required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
