Communications and Outreach Associate

Job Summary
Develop and draft communications, social media content, and seasonal newsletters for the BCS Brand while managing the editorial calendar. Track KPIs across platforms to inform strategy and build engagement with partners, donors, and community members. Conduct monthly visits to programming to interview clients and capture event photos for all communication channels. Support external events with copywriting for invitations and marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, and merchandise. Build campaign emails in the Luminate system and monitor open and click rates. Organize ERA assets and manage ongoing projects in an administrative capacity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Two year of communications experience in the nonprofit sector
- Knowledge of social media scheduler, applications, and best practices
- Expert written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling and ability to present to diverse audiences
- Proven mastery of writing for various platforms, print and online
- An understanding of how to take a compelling photo is a must
- Excellent attention to detail and project management skills
- Strategic, self-motivated and ability to problem solve
- Commitment to the work of Brooklyn Community Services

Desired Qualifications
- An advanced understanding of photography is not required
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is preferred but not required
- Experience with WordPress or another website CMS is preferred but not required
