Job Summary
Lead strategic communication efforts aligned with City Council priorities and serve as the City's Public Information Officer, including during emergency response situations. Oversee and mentor communications staff while coordinating public relations, media outreach, and digital communication initiatives. Manage the City's website, social media presence, and marketing campaigns, and develop reports, surveys, and outreach strategies to measure and improve community engagement. This role connects residents to vital city services and shapes how the community experiences local government.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in communications or public affairs
- Two (2) years of which have been in a supervisory capacity
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience
- Skilled in media relations, digital communications, and strategic messaging
- Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships across diverse audiences
