Job Summary
Communications and Marketing Manager responsible for hands-on content development and channel management across web, newsletters, social media, and presentations. Partners with leadership and an external consultant to execute a cohesive communications strategy, manage cross-office content, and oversee external vendors. Responsibilities include writing/editing for web pages, emails, newsletters, and stakeholder materials; maintaining brand-aligned messaging; managing ABFAS website content and social channels; coordinating editorial calendars; liaising with communications vendors; coordinating advertising opportunities; and supporting committee activities. The role emphasizes policy messaging about certification standards, outreach for ambassador programs, and collaboration across ABFAS leadership and volunteers. Fully remote with occasional travel for annual staff retreats and committee meetings; core hours align with Pacific Time. Salary range: $85K-$105K with comprehensive benefits, including a 35-hour workweek and full employer-paid health coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience planning and executing cross-platform communications programs and producing branded content for multiple audiences.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Experience managing internal stakeholders, vendors, and outsourced support.
- Working knowledge of content management systems and basic HTML with an understanding of how content platforms interact with databases/systems.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing tools, and basic analytics platforms such as Google Analytics/GA4.
