Job Summary

Provide communication support and life skills training to individuals with developmental disabilities using methods such as ASL, SEE, and LSQ. Advocate for unique needs and goals while assisting with personal care, meal preparation, and financial management. Implement behavioral strategies, track progress, and complete required documentation following medical procedures. Demonstrate professionalism with families and the community, adhering to the "do with, not for" philosophy. Work part-time in a collaborative environment at DeafBlind Ontario Services, earning a competitive hourly rate with comprehensive benefits and ongoing training opportunities.

  • Prepares and/or assists with meal preparation and healthy food choices according to specific dietary requirements
  • Implements behavioural strategies outlined by behavioural professionals, including tracking and reporting
  • Provides personal care as required (e.g. lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, etc.)
  • Assists people supported with managing personal finances, budgeting, and maintaining up-to-date financial records
  • Believes in the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic direction and provides the highest quality of service
