Job Summary
Facilitate patient flow into, through, and out of the Cape Fear Valley Health system by communicating with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate bed placement, transfers, and discharges. Receive physician orders on new admissions and transfers, maintain a list of patients awaiting transfer, and serve as a liaison for patients, families, physicians, and staff regarding patient flow issues. Monitor bed availability, utilize available technology to expedite patient throughput, and collaborate with Nursing Leadership, Care Coordination, and individual units. Requires high school diploma, computer experience, and EPIC familiarity; full-time day shift in Fayetteville, NC.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer experience
- Command of the English language
- Visual and auditory acuity
- Ability to communicate needs and concerns in a constructive and positive manner
- Ability to prioritize work and maintain control in stressful situations
- Exhibits creativity and flexibility in problem solving
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of individuals and disciplines
- Ability to communicate and resolve patient concerns
- Able to articulate clearly and succinctly
- Work requires long periods of standing, sitting, or walking
Desired Qualifications
- EMS credential
- Hospital and/or business office experience with specific focus in patient logistics
- EPIC experience
