Job Summary
Commodity Manager – Grain overseeing grain origination, risk management, and procurement strategies; manage long and short commodity positions, including basis adjustments; identify and secure new grain procurement opportunities; develop and expand ethanol market opportunities including oversight of wetcake marketing; oversee carbon reduction initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance; adhere to Risk Management Policy; prepare and present monthly reports on commodity positions, risk exposure, and market trends to leadership; optimize inventories across all commodities including railcar management; manage sales of ethanol, wetcake, and DDGS; stay current on market conditions by attending industry events; partner with brokers to analyze commodity trends; extensive travel within trading territory; office-based role with extensive computer use; relocation assistance provided for qualified candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered
- Minimum of seven years of experience in grain merchandising, commodity trading, or agricultural marketing
- Strong analytical capabilities with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Detail-oriented problem solver with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal effectiveness
- Innovative, forward-thinking mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
