Job Summary
Senior Commodity Manager responsible for proactively managing the total supply base performance and spend for resin, plastics, glass, gasket & insulation and wire & cable. Develop, deploy and refine sourcing strategy for assigned commodities across North America, Asia and other world areas; identify best suppliers, negotiate pricing & contracts, and secure the supply chain while mitigating risk. Establish strategic actions to achieve cost-effectiveness, consolidate supplier bases, avoid single-source risks, manage tooling and molds, and drive cost reduction and value-added savings. Monitor commodity trends, budgets, and supply constraints; support manufacturing sites and distribution centers with supplier-related issues; act as single point of contact between suppliers and sites; participate in new product introduction and gates. Requires 6-8 years in supply chain/procurement, a Bachelor’s degree, proficiency in English, and strong experience in thermoforming/thermosetting plastics, injection molding, resins, tooling/mold fabrication, and UL certification; capable of collaborating across cross-functional teams and delivering cost avoidance and supplier performance improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering International Business or Business Administration
- 6 - 8 years in Supply Chain and/or Procurement/Commodity management roles with strong background in plastic injection, glass injection, rubber & gasket molding
