Job Summary
Commodity Manager (Aerospace Manufacturing) leads tactical procurement and supplier management for assigned commodity groups, develops and executes category strategies, and drives cost reduction and risk-mitigation initiatives. Partners with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Operations, and Finance to ensure reliable, compliant, and cost-effective supply of materials, components, and services. Leads a team of buyers/analysts sourcing professionals; conducts supplier qualification, performance reviews, and on-site audits; drives design-to-cost/value engineering discussions and NPIs; collaborates on cross-functional sourcing strategies and risk management; requires onsite presence at Seminole, OK or Thornton, CO with up to 30% travel. Requires a bachelor’s degree and 5 years purchasing experience (2+ years leading a team); aerospace standards knowledge (AS9100/NADCAP) preferred; APICS/ISM certification a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5 years of purchasing experience, with at least 2 years in manufacturing or supply chain
- 2 years of experience leading and developing a team
- Proven track record of effective commodity and supplier management
- Experience leading commodity strategies across multiple sites
- Knowledge of aerospace regulations and quality standards is highly desirable
- Experience with AS9100, NADCAP, and defense compliance requirements
- APICS or ISM certification a plus, or ability to obtain certification is desired
- Must be able to be onsite at the Seminole, OK site or the Thornton, CO site full time
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time
