Job Summary
Raise purchase orders aligned with production and business requirements while ensuring materials are delivered on time to support manufacturing demand. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring their performance and driving improvements where necessary. Maintain accurate supplier information and purchase order data within the ERP system, keeping delivery dates current in SAP. Collaborate closely with engineering, planning, and production teams to support cost-effective purchasing strategies across your commodity area. This role requires previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, strong supplier management skills, and proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Excel.
Required Qualifications
- Previous purchasing or buying experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing suppliers and procurement activities
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering data
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using an ERP system (SAP experience would be advantageous)
- Experience within one or more of the following commodity areas: Engines & Mechanical Components, Composites, Marine Components
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A proactive, organised and analytical approach to problem solving
- The ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
