Job Summary
Conduct bilingual speech-language evaluations by performing observations, administering assessments, and completing Frontline IEP input. Write reports required by the Committee on Special Education and assist in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans. Consult with parents, school personnel, and other professional disciplines while inputting Medicaid billing into the electronic management system. Attend CSE meetings and fulfill any additional assigned duties deemed necessary. This position supports the Central Committee on Special Education within the Buffalo Public School District, reporting to the Interim Superintendent of Schools.
Required Qualifications
- New York State permanent teacher certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled
- bilingual extension
- New York State Licensure and Registration as a speech-language pathologist
- application knowledge of various Speech Language assessment tools
- strong interpersonal communication skills
- knowledge of ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech-Language Pathology
- knowledge of Medicaid Regulations
- knowledge of Federal and State regulations of Speech-Language Pathology
