Job Summary
Conduct academic coaching and interpersonal development for elementary, middle, and high school students through one-on-one and small group sessions. Develop literacy and math skills by varying learning activities, answering questions, and encouraging assignment completion. Create and implement a behavior management system while collaborating with teachers to monitor individual student progress using City Year's data system. Support whole school initiatives by conducting extended day and virtual programming for academic enrichment, homework support, and leadership development. Create engaging classroom spaces and co-lead events recognizing student growth in attendance and behavior.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
- Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025
- Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
- Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program
- Agree to and complete a background check
- Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025
