Job Summary
Conduct 1:1 and small group academic coaching for elementary, middle, and high school students to improve attendance, literacy, and math skills. Develop and implement behavior management systems while collaborating with teachers to monitor individual student progress through City Year's data system. Create engaging classroom spaces and support whole school initiatives including extended day programming, homework assistance, and student clubs. Participate in facilitated reviews of student data and co-lead events recognizing student growth. Requires U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, age 17-25 by July 1, 2025, and a high school diploma or GED. Begin by July/August 2025.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
- Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025
- Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
- Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program
- Agree to and complete a background check
- Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025
