Job Summary
Conduct 1:1 and small group academic coaching for elementary, middle, and high school students to improve attendance, literacy, and math skills. Develop and implement behavior management systems while collaborating with teachers to monitor individual student progress through City Year's data system. Create engaging classroom spaces and support whole school initiatives including extended day programming, academic enrichment, and student clubs. Lead events recognizing student growth in literacy, math, and behavior. Provide interpersonal development using strategies of learning, practicing, reflection, and repetition.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
- Be 17-25 by July 1, 2025
- Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
- Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program
- Agree to and complete a background check
- Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025
