Job Summary
Conduct system testing, startup, and verification for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems during the final construction phases. Coordinate commissioning activities with project managers, subcontractors, and owners to ensure systems operate per design intent before owner occupancy. Perform field inspections, document deficiencies, track corrective actions, and witness equipment startup activities while maintaining compliance with codes and specifications. Generate detailed reports, manage punch lists, and prepare turnover documentation including O&M manuals. Assist in owner training sessions and support post-occupancy follow-up. Requires 2-5 years of commercial construction experience, OSHA 30 certification, and proficiency with Procore, Revit, and MS Project.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction, building systems, commissioning, facility operations, MEP trades, or related fields
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, testing, balancing, or troubleshooting activities
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical certification, or trade school training in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Building Systems, Construction Management, or a related field
- Experience working with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, controls, or building automation systems
- Proficiency with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Navisworks, Revit, and MS Project
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders and trades
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Certified Commissioning Technician (CCT)
- Certified Commissioning Process Provider (CCP) coursework or related commissioning certifications
- HVAC, electrical, or controls-related certifications
