Job Summary
The Superintendent - Commissioning leads start-up, commissioning, performance testing, and troubleshooting for utility-scale renewable projects. On-site responsibilities include coordinating Commissioning Engineers, Technicians, Vendor Representatives, and Contractors; verifying test prerequisites with the Project Manager and Construction Manager; developing Punch Lists prior to turnover; supervising field testing and safety/compliance; reviewing test documentation; leading troubleshooting to resolve failed tests or underperformance; organizing site turnover and O&M documentation; assisting with Safety Tagging, Lockout & Work Permit programs; coordinating O&M training with the Owner’s Operations Department; and leading meetings, process development, and training of testing personnel. The role emphasizes safety, quality, leadership, and collaboration with clients and contractors, with travel required and a base salary range of $120k-$150k. The incumbent should possess strong technical knowledge in electrical testing, safety standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA 70E), field operations, and project execution, with demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and communicate effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool/GED is required
- 4+ years of testing and commissioning electrical systems, preferably on utility-scale solar and energy storage projects
- A valid driver's license is required
- Ability to travel 75-100%
