Job Summary
Commissioning Project Manager for Salt Lake City region responsible for managing multiple CxA projects in data-center commissioning. Lead a team of commissioning engineers and CXA project managers, supervise design and quality-control activities, staffing, budget (P&L), and adherence to CXA standards and QC processes. Interface with clients to define project requirements, develop work plans and deadlines, and communicate progress via face-to-face meetings, phone, and email. Drive preparation of engineering proposals (RFPs), facilitate client meetings, track project costs and forecasts, and ensure comprehensive commissioning documentation, test procedures, and reports (including system testing for HVAC, electrical distribution, fire alarm/control, Chillers, CRAC units, UPS, generators, and related MEP systems). Oversee development of SOPs and MOPs, ensure adherence to company policies, and manage staff while acting as a technical resource for the local commissioning team. Travel availability required (approximately 25-50%). Follow QA/QC processes and interface with clients, contractors, vendors, and owners’ representatives to optimize building operations and close out deficiencies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- P.E. license (preferred)
- LEED accreditation (preferred)
- PMP certification (preferred)
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in Electrical/Mechanical Commissioning
- Hands-on experience managing Data Centers / Critical Facilities Projects with an A/E, MEP or CxA company
- Experience with IEEE / ASHRAE procedures and protocols is a plus
- Experience managing CXA teams and developing plans for large-scale commissioning projects
- Project management experience in the Consulting Engineering Industry
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with heavy client interaction
- MS Office / Microsoft Project / Excel proficiency
- Willingness to travel 25-50%
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (a plus)
