Job Summary
Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, checklists, and functional test scripts for assigned process and facility utility systems serving wafer fabrication and cleanroom operations. Review P&IDs, specifications, and turnover packages to confirm readiness, then perform field walkdowns to verify installation and completion against approved design requirements. Coordinate construction, QA/QC, vendors, and operations activities for pressure testing, flushing, leak testing, loop checks, energization, and startup of gas, chemical, water, vacuum, and wastewater systems. Witness equipment startup, verify alarm and interlock functions, analyze test results, and drive corrective actions to closure while managing deficiencies through punch list resolution. Protect live fab systems by adhering to lockout/tagout, permit, and contamination control protocols. Coordinate final acceptance and turnover, ensuring all test reports, manuals, and documentation are complete. Support startup stabilization, performance verification, and lessons learned post-service. Requires minimum five years of commissioning experience on complex manufacturing projects with direct semiconductor fab exposure.
Required Qualifications
- Direct semiconductor facilities experience
- Minimum 5 years of commissioning, startup, process engineering, or facilities engineering experience on complex manufacturing projects
- Hands on knowledge of high purity process utilities
- Ability to read P&IDs, piping isometrics, control narratives, equipment data sheets, instrument lists, and cause and effect matrices
- Experience with the commissioning lifecycle from mechanical completion and system turnover through functional testing, startup, stabilization, and final acceptance
- Working knowledge of applicable industrial codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, NFPA 70, NFPA 55, semiconductor safety practices, and project specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with building management, SCADA, or PLC based controls, including loop checks, alarm verification, interlock testing, and trend review
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
- Experience with PMWeb, Latista, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or commissioning management software
